– AXLES UPDATE – WE CURRENTLY HAVE NO MATCHED PAIRS OF AXLES THAT MATCH THE DESCRIPTION BELOW. WE HAVE A FEW SETS OF DANA 44’S (DISC FRONT / DRUM REAR) WITH MISMATCHED RATIOS. FOR EXAMPLE 3.07 FRONT AND 3.73 REAR. WE ALSO HAVE “CORES” WHICH ARE AXLES THAT ARE MISSING SHAFTS, BRAKE BACKING PLATES, GEARS, ETC. WE CAN SELL THESE SETS FOR LOWER PRICES DEPENDING ON CONDITION.
We have Dana 44 axle sets for all Scout II’s, Terras, and Travelers. Disc brake front axle and drum brake rear axle. These are direct bolt in for all Scout II, but are widely used by the 4×4 community as upgraded axles for Scout 80, 800 as well as other makes altogether.
Axles are pulled from Scouts that we dismantle, so the conditions will vary. In order to be considered a good core, the ring and pinion gear must be in good condition and no excessive slop or bad bearings. Keep in mind that conditions of every axle will vary. We highly recommend that these axles are moderately to fully rebuilt before you install them. All brake parts, bearings, seals etc are considered wear items that almost always need to be replaced. We almost always have 3.07 and 3.54 gear ratios axles available. If you want 3.73 or numerically higher, we cannot guarantee these to be in stock at all times.
All axle sets have to be shipped via truck freight. Shipping costs will be significantly higher to a residential address. A single axle can potentially be shipped UPS Ground if disassembled. Call us for more details.
